What is Forex trading?

Updated yesterday

Forex trading, also known as foreign exchange trading or currency trading, is the buying and selling of currencies in the foreign exchange market with the goal of making a profit. The forex market is the most actively traded financial market in the world, with an average daily trading volume of $5 trillion.

Forex, or foreign exchange, can be defined as a network of buyers and sellers who exchange currencies among themselves at an agreed-upon rate. This is the means by which individuals, companies, and central banks convert one currency into another.

While many foreign currencies are exchanged for practical purposes, the vast majority of currency exchange transactions are for profit. The sheer volume of currency exchanged daily can lead to significant volatility in the price movements of some currencies. This volatility is what makes the forex market attractive to traders, offering both substantial profit opportunities and increased risk.
