Yes, it's possible for your account to temporarily reach a negative balance. However, we apply Negative Balance Protection (NBP), which means you can't lose more than the funds you've deposited. If your balance goes below zero, we'll automatically bring it back to zero, so you won't owe us anything.
To help manage risk, a margin call is triggered when your margin level reaches 100%, and stop-out occurs at 20%, where positions are automatically closed to limit further losses. However, in rare cases of extreme market volatility, price gaps, ore very fast market movements, positions may be closed at a worse price than expected. This can cause your account to briefly fall below zero before NBP is applied.
What to do when my account reaches a negative balance?
Your negative balance will be cleared automatically within a short period of time. If it takes longer than expected, you can contact us by emailing our back office team ([email protected]). Please note that if you make a deposit while your account is still negative, we will first remove the negative balance before applying your funds, so your deposit will note be affected.
