How can I install an Expert Advisor on MetaTrader 4?
Go to file on MT4.
Open Data folder then choose - MQL4.
Open Experts file.
Then paste the .ex4 file.
When you restart the platform, the Expert Advisor should now appear in the "Navigator" window under the "Expert Advisors" section.
To place the Expert Advisor on the chart, drag it from the Navigator window and place it on the desired chart. A window will appear allowing you to configure the Expert Advisor settings. Once the settings are configured, click OK.
How to activate my Expert Advisor?
To ensure that your Expert Advisor is enabled, you must make sure that the AutoTrading feature located at the top of the menu is activated as follows:
After activating it, a "smiley face" will appear next to the Expert Advisor at the top of the chart.
If you find a "frowning face" next to the Expert Advisor:
Right click on the chart, select Expert Advisor, then make sure "Allow Live trading" and "Allow DLL import" are selected.
If you see an "X" next to the Expert Advisor, then click the "AutoTrading" button at the top of the platform.
